Paramount Skydance Set to Remove Approximately 2,000 United States Roles – Update

Paramount Skydance plans to start significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, eliminating about 2,000 US jobs within a cost-cutting plan worth $2bn overseen by top executive David Ellison.

These job cuts follow the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized during August worth $8.4bn.

Further overseas workforce reductions are likely, as the firm planning to reveal all specifics in its third-quarter financial update on 10 November.

Earlier reports had indicated the company planned to eliminate between 2,000 and 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.

As of December 2024, the company employed almost 18,600 permanent and temporary staff and 3,500 project-based staff.

The organization has not provided a response on the matter.
